About the TAVR / TAVI
TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) is a procedure to replace a narrowed aortic valve that fails to open properly (aortic stenosis). Unlike traditional surgery, TAVR replaces the valve through a small catheter inserted into a blood vessel in the groin. A new prosthetic valve is expanded inside the old valve, taking over the job of regulating blood flow immediately.
"TAVR is the preferred choice for elderly patients or those who are at high risk for traditional open-heart surgery, offering much faster recovery and less pain."
